Bright pink has become the last color you‘d expect to locate inside a mosque, but that is the colour which was a designed to paint every inch of the mosque inside the Philippines. The Masjid Dimaukom has become the world's only pink mosque; the colour is supposed to symbolize peace, adore, unity, and brotherhood.

Consistent with Mayor Samsudin Dimaukom–whom the mosque is named after–the building is supposed to become a symbol of unity and interfaith brotherhood between Muslims and Christians inside the province.

The mayor purchased the construction from the mosque on property owned by his family, and he was the one who, together with his wife, decided to possess it painted pink to represent peace and adore.

He also had Christian workmen build the structure as his method of asking Filipino Muslims to practice tolerance, celebrate diversity, and foster equality.
